Group Justifies FG’s Escrow Of DisCos’ Account

Power Investors flay FG's plan to escrow discos' accounts - Businessday NG
The Nigeria Consumer Protection Network, has justified the recent decision of the Federal Government to escrow the  accounts of electricity distribution companies in the country.
Its President,Kunle Olubiyo, said the companies were not remitting money to NBET and market operators inspite of the huge inflows being recorded by them.
He said:”About 5 Discos were making N50 billion per month .They were not remitting to NBET and Market Operators to fund the cash strapped market.Whenever they choose to remit at all, they usually remit paltry sum of 10% to 20% .
“It was more or less a bitcoin currency market where there were serious in fighting between the board members , chairman of some discos were segregated and excluded .  It was cat and mouse relationship between those hurriedly came together to form the DisCom few weeks privatization better described as strange bed”
He said in the last three years, the big  distribution companies raked in i N 1.8 Trillion Naira
He alleged that there are there are caucuses  with structures and secret bank account only
or exclusively known to two or three members of the inner causes of each of the board of directors or equity stakeholders.
He further alleged:”There  are serious mistrust amongst the investors , local and foreign partners.  They could not eat from each other’s table and could not freely take drinks from each other’s hand ..It was pure mistrust. There several dirty board room intrigues and crafty design to go for each others’ head in a mafia like dirty fight.
“The Federal Government  have been providing the Payment Assurance Fund ( PAF ) for regular payment of Gas .Now that has been drawn down and exhausted. The private sector owned gas companies that used to rush to supply gas has shut down their machines. They are not ready to supply on credit. They do cash and carry.
“This is where the take or pay PRG AcuGas between NIPP /NDPHC and .AccuGas and the likes come to the rescue.Take or Pay Obligations to Gas Suppliers or
Provision of PRG or Firm Contracted Gas Purchase Agreement between power generation companies  and gas companied  are inevitable and fundamental if we must be taken serious as a nation.
He said  the  attempts by
NBET and  electricity distribution companies  to call off or pull out their 90 Days banks’ guarantee 90 days letter of credits from the markets will no doubt exposed the
Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry to more ridicule among the  comity of Nations. ..
He added:”Moving forward ,the regulatory institutions that has direct and indirect bearing on the Power Sector should rise above board , be an incorruptible judge, rise above regulatory capture, be firm ,  courageous and consistent in the strict implementation of markets rules , statutory and regulatory framework .This is the way to go in an ideal regulatory landscape if we really want to get the best for the Nigerian Electricity EcoSystem….

Kenyatta Betrayed Kanu-IPOB

We support our kith and kin - Niger Delta Avengers" - Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) | BellaNaija
The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB,says  President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya should be held responsible for the re-arrest of Mazi  Nnamdi Kanu.
Emma Powerful spokesman of the group disclosed this in a statement
The release reads in part : “We the global movement of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) ably led by our great and indomitable leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, express our disappointment with President Uhuru Kenyetta of Kenya and his Government over his role in the abduction of our Leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and his subsequent smuggling into Nigeria by the wicked Nigeria security agents.
We are still at shock why a President like Uhuru Kenyetta would stoop so low to collude with a terror-friendly Government like Nigeria under
President Muhamnadu Buhari to abduct and dehumanise our Leader for doing nothing other than demanding the freedom of Biafrans from the Nigeria bondage”.
“Based on our preliminary findings, President Uhuru Kenyetta was very instrumental to the abduction of our Leader in Kenya. The treacherous action of Uhuru kenyatta against Nnamdi Kanu and Biafrans at large is a clear violation of the 1949  Geneva Convention, and United Nations Code.
We still don’t understand why Uhuru kenyatta and some corrupt officials of his Government would prefer to betray Nnamdi Kanu and Biafrans? Is it because of Nigeria oil money? Is it because of the
paltry N100 million bounty placed on Kanu’s head by some Northern charlatans?  Why will President Uhuru Kenyetta sell our leader Mazi Nnamdi to the evil hands of Nigerian government?
“It is so shameful that Uhuru kenyatta would belittle himself in a manner he has just done. By this wickedness and grievous sin, Uhuru kenyatta has demonstrated his affection for the murderous Fulani terrorists  ravaging the entire Nigeria
killing and maming indigenous people in their ancestral lands.
Uhuru kenyatta and his partners in crime should get ready to meet us at the International Criminal Court, ICC. This act of terror against our Leader, Nnamdi Kanu, a NATO citizen, British citizen with British
International Passport and member of other international organizations will not go unpunished.”
“As we continue with our investigations into this crime with a view to unmasking all the collaborators, we announce the following interim actions until further notice:
We call on all Biafrans both home and in the diaspora to boycott travels with Kenya Air Lines; to immediately stop patronising any product made in Kenya; and to boycott any business dealings with
Kenyans. We cannot be relating friendly with anyone collaborating with our oppressors to keep us in perpetual slavery”!
“We also want to urge all Biafrans and members of the public to disregard all the concocted rubbish the wicked Nigeria Government and their agents
have been peddling about how and where our leader was arrested. He was never arrested but abuducted. All these cock and bull story is to
twist facts and blackmail our selfless leader who they have seen as the major obstacle against their agenda to completely Islamise and Fulani Nigeria. Nobody should believe these lies. They are only intended to demarket our Leader and puncture his global reputation and teeming followership.
“The global family of IPOB reaffirm our unalloyed loyalty, belief and confidence in our leader Nnamdi Kanu. Biafrans are united behind him in his current ordeals in the hands of our oppressors. We also wish to remind the Nigeria Government that nothing should happen to our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu”, he concluded
