Engineer Joseph Ciroma, the General Manager Project Coordinator of Transmission Company of Nigeria, says dark forces are against him following recent corruption allegations slammed on him by Concerned Staff of Transmission Company of Nigeria,TCN.
The group wrote two separate petitions to the Minister of Power Engineer Abubakar Aliyu,to that effect on 27th of July and October 20th 2022
On December 27th,2022,the group also sent a similar petition signed by David Immiya to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC on account of corruption against Ciroma.
A source said that the petitioner, is not a staff of TCN as claimed earlier, adding that there are no records of service in the organisation linked to David Immiya, the leader of the group
The group is faceless, unknown and the content of their petition is baseless and unfounded, the source said.
David Immiya requested to present the relevant authorities with facts and evidence to work with, according to a top management staff of the power ministry who pleaded anonymity.
According to him,the ministry of Power and the TCN are waiting for evidential records and proof of the allegations against Ciroma ranging from lobbying to create an Executive Directorate of the project office and influencing contract awards at the African Development Bank, AFDB.
The source added that the only recognized and organized labour in the power sector is the National Union of Electricity Employees NUEE, arguing that there is no group as Concerned Staff of TCN.
The source said:”The petition which was published in the Postimes of August 2022, Independent of 5th November 2022, Independent of 27th December 2022 and Voice of America VOA of 5th December 2022 respectively, has clearly shown that dark forces within and outside the system have come together to undermine the institution of the power sector.
“David Immiya is therefore requested to as a matter of urgency come up with facts and evidence base records to enable the authorities have what to work with”
