Accident:Club Seventies Epe Condoles Bereaved Families,Advocates Stricter Safety Measures On Road

The Club Seventies Epe has condoled the families of the victims of the recent tragic accident in Epe,which claimed five lives.
In a statement signed by the club’s President, Yunus Yusuf,the group expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and the impact on the community.
“We are devastated by this unfortunate incident and mourn with the families of those who lost their lives.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the injured, and we wish them a swift recovery,” the statement said.
The tragic accident,which eyewitnesses attributed to reckless driving and poor road safety practices, has sparked concerns within the community.
Club Seventies Epe advised relevant authorities to enforce stricter safety measures on the roads.
The club also warned against road trading on account of the role such practice plays in endangering lives.
“Road trading remains a significant hazard to both traders and road users.We urge residents to desist from this practice and find safer alternatives. Safety must be prioritized to prevent future tragedies,” Yunus Yusuf stated.
As part of its commitment to community well-being, Club Seventies Epe pledged to collaborate with stakeholders for enhanced road safety awareness and education.
The club urged local authorities to address the challenges of road congestion and implement measures to safeguard lives.
He said,the tragedy serves as a sobering reminder of the need for all stakeholders to work together in ensuring safer roads and a more secure environment for the people of Epe.
To prevent such devastating incidents in the future, the club urged the local government administrators to install speed breakers, particularly at bends and other accident-prone areas.
These measures,he explained,will help control the speed of drivers and significantly reduce the likelihood of accidents.
The club wishes some of the wounded victims at the Epe General Hospital (FMC Epe) quick recovery.
The accident occurred in Ayeyoro, Epe, resulting in three fatalities after a Dangote truck suffered critical brake failure while descending from Ita-Opo.
The truck collided with a tricycle and a stationary Toyota Camry at the Ayeyoro traffic light before crashing into the Ayetoro Market Complex.
The accident involved a Dangote truck with plate number (DCG-TM-028) and a tricycle with plate number (Marwa AGL 442 QC).
The victims included the tricycle driver and two students from Manpower Technical School.
