Acting Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has ordered immediate investigation, arrest, and prosecution of all the culprits who killed SP Bako Angbashim,the Divisional Police Officer, Ahoada Division in Rivers State.
He was humiliated, gruesomely murdered, and mutilated by some hardened armed criminals in Ahoada area of Rivers State on Friday, 8th September, 2023, while on operation in the area.
The police boss,who gave the order to fish out killers of the cop in a statement on Saturday signed by Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Force Headquarters, Abuja,ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi,condemned the act.
The murder of the senior cop is not only an affront on national status but also a reflection of a lack of patriotism and gross illegality,the statement said.
The statement quoted the police boss as emphasizing that such nefarious acts against any operative in Nigeria, will not be taken with levity as all the perpetrators will face the full wrath of the law.
He commiserated with the family,colleagues and friends of SP Bako Angbashim,and urged them to embody his dedication,humility,and selflessness.
