One of Nigeria’s solar firms,GreenPower Overseas Limited,has won the United States African Development Foundation’s (USADF) $50,000 grant and $50,000 ALLON facility for the off-grid Energy Challenge for 2021.
The USADF is an independent U.S. government agency established by Congress to invest directly in African grassroots enterprises and social entrepreneurs.
The Off-grid energy challenge is aimed to support companies in the renewable energy sector across Africa in other to increase access to cheap and clean energy by rural communities.
The solar energy giant which provides private and industrial renewable energy solutions to homes, factories, schools and business organizations is to deploy Solar Homes System (SHS) in the “unserved and underserved” communities in Ondo State.
The Director of Finance and Investment for the company Mrs. Temitope Faparusi,expressed confidence in the partnership with ALLON assured the public of the commitment of company to maintain its high ethical standard and quality service delivery in handling its projects.
She said:”GreenPower wins $50,000 USADF grant and $50,000 ALLON facility for the Off-grid Energy Challenge for 2021. The $100,000 is to deploy Solar Homes System (SHS) in the unserved and underserved communities of Ondo State.
