Ejike Okoye, popular Nollywood actor, has passed a vote of confidence on the quality of Nollywood movies in the country.
“Nollywood today is far better than Nollywood of yesterday in terms of product quality. I am impressed by the rate at which production quality improves,” he said
He said he has featured in more than 100 movies like Isakaba, Black Angels, Igodo, Cry for Help, among others.
According to him, his most recent movies are “Far From Home, Onye Ichie In America, The Web, Village Boy in London, XYZA, Double Wahala, Blood Stone,” among others, which have won him numerous awards.
The actor disclosed that his journey in the film industry could be traced to his childhood days.
He said: “I did too many stage plays in my church as a kid during my elementary school days. When I played the role of Samuel in the church, it attracted a lot of commendations.People were amazed at my performance. I believe that’s what led me into acting when I became an adult.”
The actor said he also imports automobiles and merchandise to complement his income from acting
“Apart from acting, I do other businesses. I import goods especially motor vehicles and other merchandise. When a family grows, one tends to expand one’s coast.”
He spoke on how he handles criticisms, saying : “In life, we can’t control what others say or do but we can control ourselves and our reactions.”
He also spends quality time to unwind.
“This is another important aspect of life. We should take time off our works or businesses to rest or relax. We should spend some quality time with our families. I take vacations seven to eight times every year with my family. Some are long while some are weekend getaways. I also do other things to relax like working out, swimming, taking walks, watching movies and more,” he added.
He admonished aspiring actors to be humble, stay focused in life; set goals for themselves, strive hard to achieve the goals and above, all pray to God for direction to avoid making wrong choices or decisions.
