Ode-Aye Kingdom Mourns Passing Of Ikutiminu At 86

Sons and daughters of Ode Aye-Ikale in Ondo State, have continued to bid farewell since the passing of an illustrious son of the kingdom, High Chief Olatubara Ikutiminu.

Chief Ikutiminu, who was the Oyewogha of Ode Aye-Ikale kingdom in Ondo state, passed onto glory on March 20th 2026 at a ripe age of 86 in his Lagos residence. 

HRM, Oba Michael  Adetoye (Ogungbemi 1), the Jegun of Idepe-Okitipupa, Ondo state, expressed gratitude to God for a life well spent. 

He stated that “the Royal family and the entire people of Okitipupa will miss the late Ikutiminu for his numerous humanitarian achievements”.

 He also described Oyewogha’s life as one of service, devotion and leadership to his Community and the nation at large.

Prince Adesupo Eniola, who announced the death on behalf of the Ikutiminu family, stated that Chief Olatubara, a retired Army Major General, who will be dearly missed by sons and daughters of Ikale, was an extraordinary personality and an Iconoclast. 

According to High Chief S. K. Ogunboye (the Akinluwa of Aye), Ikutiminu’s death is a monumental loss to the entire Ode-Aye Ikale in Ondo state as all his legacy projects and achievements in the community remain first of its kind in the entire local government “.

Sir Chief Moses Akinmade, describing the deceased as a charismatic leader and an exemplary patriot, noted that virtually all Ode-Aye community-led projects and achievements had the inputs of Chief Olatubara, either as the leader or part of the Vanguard of those who orchestrated and successfully executed such projects. 

He added:”As part of his love for his Community, the Oyewogha inaugurated Ikale Bitumen Ltd and later secured a FGN licence to establish Ode-Aye Refinery & Petrochemicals Ltd”  Akinmade noted.

Describing Olatubara as a noble man of God with a gentle character worth far more than rubies, Eniola stated ,.

Eulogising the deceased further, Eniola noted “Baba was a virtuoso of kindness, a maestro of compassion, a paragon of generosity who was a shining exemplar of love to humanity”.

Speaking on the burial arrangements, Eniola informed that Service of Songs will hold at RCCG Redemption Parish, Festac Town on 7th April 2026, while Lying-in-State is at St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Ilamoye, Ijesha, Lagos on the 9th April 2026.

Besides, wake-keep holds at his residence, in Ode-Aye Okitipupa, Ondo state while the funeral thanksgiving service which holds on April 10th 2026 is at St. Christopher’s Anglican Church, Ode-Aye in Ondo state, he noted.

“Chief was the glue that held family, extended family, Ikale, and Ode-Aye together worldwide, the anchor that kept everybody grounded, and the beacon that guided us through life’s storms” Eniola stated further.

He added:”Chief’s legacy of love, kindness,devotion and philanthropy will continue to inspire us, and his memory will be a blessing to generations yet to come”.
