Omomofe Koledoye, the Special Assistant to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on Disability Matters, has advocated the need for the total inclusion of Persons with Disabilities in all areas of governance and development in Ondo.
She said such areas should include education, employment, transportation, healthcare, political participation, and policy formulation.
Conveying the request through a press statement to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the creation of the state, she said s truly progressive Ondo State is one where no citizen is left behind, regardless of physical ability.
“Celebrating Ondo at 50 must go beyond ceremonies. It should translate into deliberate actions that uphold dignity, access, and equal opportunities for Persons with Disabilities, who are an integral part of our society,” she stated.
She reminded her boss of his promise to donate a bus to the disability community as part of activities marking the Golden Jubilee celebration.
She emphasized that such a gesture would greatly enhance mobility, participation, and social inclusion for PWDs across the State.
She expressed confidence that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, known for his compassionate and responsive leadership, would honor this commitment as another strong demonstration of his administration’s dedication to inclusiveness and social justice.
She felicitated with Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and the people of Ondo on the 50th anniversary of the creation of the state.
Describing the Golden Jubilee as a moment of reflection, gratitude, and renewed commitment, she noted that the journey of Ondo State over the past five decades has been marked by resilience, progress, and the collective sacrifices of its people.
She lauded her boss for his leadership and expressed optimism that the next phase of the State’s development would be more inclusive, equitable, and people-centered, particularly for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).
