INEC Declares Adeleke Winner Of Osun Gov Poll

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared Governor Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke of the Accord Party winner of the Osun State governorship election held on Saturday, 15th August 2026.

The Returning Officer for the election, Professor Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole, announced the result at the INEC State Headquarters in Osogbo.

According to him, Adeleke scored 511,067 votes to defeat Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who polled 444,815 votes.

With the result, Adeleke defeated his closest challenger by 66,252 votes.

The declaration paves the way for Adeleke to serve second term as Governor of Osun State.

According to returning officer, “I hereby declared Adeleke of the Accord Party having satisfied the constitutional requirements and thereby returned winner.”
