Governor Ademola Adeleke has declared Tuesday, July 28, 2026 a work-free day for all public servants in Osun State to enable them collect their Permanent Voter Cards.
In a circular issued by the Head of Service, Elder Ayanleye Aina, the directive covers all categories of workers including those in the state civil service, local government and tertiary institutions.
According to Aina, the work-free day was approved to allow public servants perform their civic obligation ahead of the forthcoming gubernatorial and future elections in the state.
He urged workers to use the opportunity to collect their PVCs and participate fully in the electoral process.
According to the circular, those on essential duties like medical workers, security staff etc are advised to make necessary arrangements among themselves in this regard so as not to have negative consequences on the lives of the citizenry.
He urged public servants and other informal workers to collect their voters cards as urgently as possible, reminding the public of how critical next month’s election is to the state and her future.
“I encourage all registered voters to reach all the collection points without delay. Your vote is your power. Your voters card is your licence to the ballot paper and by extension to the ballot box”, the governor added.
