A twenty- six year old school gateman, Josiah Ayomide has been arrested for allegedly defiling a four years old pupil in Ibadan.
The Public Relation Officer for Oyo State Police Command Headquarters, CSP Adewale Osifeso ,disclosed this while briefing journalists at the Commands Headquarters in Eleyele, Ibadan on Thursday.
He noted that the victim is one of the students of the school where the gateman works
The victim, four, had on 29th August, 2025 complained of pains in her vagina to her eldest sister.
Osifeso noted that the victim later told her mother that her school gateman had unlawfully raped her while she was in the school.
He said the suspect was arrested and later confessed to the crime.
He added:”The victim was taken to Police Medical Clinic Eleyele-Ibadan for medical examination and treatment and medical report revealed that hymen not intact, tenderness around the vulva and vagina with bruises.
He said the suspect would be prosecuted upon completion of investigation.
Besides, the Command also arrested one Azeez Kolawole and Isah Fatai at Soka Sanyo area for engaging in stealing of goats around Ibadan and its environ, using Toyata Matrix without Registration number.
Osifeso said the two suspects were arrested and charged to court on two different occasions for same offence.
He, however, said the suspects have confessed to the crime and investigation is ongoing to locate other members of their syndicate.
Other suspected criminals arrested by the Police include suspected kidnappers, suspected armed robbers, and suspected hijackers.
