The Club Seventies, Epe, has condoled with families of the deceased and victims of the unfortunate accident which claimed lives of five people and left several others injured at ‘Ita Opo traffic junction penultimate Friday.
Mr Adelaja Nojeem Hassan, the Club’s President, in a statement on Sunday in Lagos, expressed shock over the terrible accident which turned the entire Epe Federal Constituency to Black Friday
He said:”The incident was tragic and indeed a” Black Day” for the entire Epe Federal Constituency. We are deeply saddened by this event and pray to God Almighty to continue to avert such and never experience such tragedy again”
Hassan ,who also condoled with the Local Government and the people of Epe in Lagos,implored the council’s chairman, Princess Surah Animashaun, to investigate the cause of the accident and bring culprits to book.
“Animashaun should ensure that the perpetrator of July 19th fatal accident that claimed lives at the Ita-Opo traffic light spot should be made to face the full wrath of the law”, he said.
Hassan commended the Chief Medical Director, Epe General Hospital for his prompt response in ensuring that the survivors were given prompt and adequate medical attention.
He implored motorists plying Ita-Opo junction to be mindful of other users of important road and obey the traffic light with a view to averting accident in the axis and other busy roads in the community.
According to him,the council’s boss should ensure that all road safety agencies in Epe areas are collaborated with in order to forestall such occurrence in the area.
He prayed that God grant the deceased families and loved ones the fortitude to bear the loss.
” May God Almighty in infinite mercy forgive the short comings of the departed souls and grant them eternal rest.We pray and hope that such occurrence will not happen in our community again and plead with everyone to be cautious and careful while driving and transporting from one place to another,” he added.
