Bola Ahmed Tinubu Support Groups Management Council (BAT-SGMC) has emphasised that it is only the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, that possesses the capacity to transform Nigeria industrially, curb poverty, illiteracy and ensure societal sustainable transformation in the country.
Convener of the group, Adewale Adeogun, who made the statement at a press conference on Monday in Lagos,said there is no doubt that Tinubu has what it takes to transform Nigeria within a short period of taking the mantle of leadership of the nation come May 29, 2023.
“Having won convincingly at the just concluded APC Convention that was held in Abuja, we all believe without any doubt that Tinubu has what it takes to transform this country industrially, provide employment, curb poverty, illiteracy and ensure societal sustainable transformation”, Adeogun said.
On the choice of running mate, Adeogun said the party is still in the consultation process on the particular person to become vice president of Tinubu, the APC flag-bearer, adding that to meet the deadline set by INEC, Alhaji Kabiru Ibrahim Masari’s name has been forwarded to INEC, which according to him, could be temporary.
“The party is still in the consultation process of agreeing on the running mate of Senator Bola Tinubu, its Presidential flag-bearer. However, to meet up with the deadline set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Alhaji Kabiru Ibrahim Masari’s name has been forwarded to INEC. We understand that this could be temporary as the consultation process is still going on”, he said
Speaking on the choice of Muslim-Muslm ticket, he expressed his group’s readiness to abide by the choice of Tinubu, coupled with the zoning to the North East but affirmed that the group believes that “we cannot at this critical moment of national socio-economic and political challenges reduce the concept of governance to regional and religious politics, which according to them, should be seen as political arrangements for political victories.”

He noted that APC is conscious of the political terrain and desirous of retaining power, which could only be achieved through a comprehensive understanding of the voting process and the ability of the candidates presented to influence the political consciousness of the people to get involved in the political process and vote for the party.
