DisCos Billed Consumers N816.15bn Last Year-NERC

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission(NERC), has said that 11 Discos across the country billed  electricity consumers N816.15bn in 2020
The agency,in its  financial report,however said consumers paid  a total of N542.73bn to power distribution companies  leaving N273.42bn as shortfall within the period in view.
According to the agency,Ikeja Disco collected the highest amount of electricity bill from customers in its franchise area, as it raked in N105.23bn in 2020,Yola Disco collected the lowest revenue last year, garnering N10.74bn during the period.
Abuja, Benin and Eko Discos made revenues of N82.6bn, N45.66bn and 84.66bn respectively.
The distribution companies in Enugu, Ibadan and Jos collected N47.83bn, N61.8bn and N17.44bn respectively from their customers.
Kaduna, Kano and Port Harcourt Discos  customers paid N21.53bn, N33.84bn and N31.39bn to their electricity suppliers respectively.
