The Federal Government will on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, airlift another batch of stranded Nigerian nationals from South Africa.
This was conveyed in a statement on Monday by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa.
According to the statement, an Air Peace aircraft assigned for the operation will depart Lagos for Johannesburg at 3:30 p.m.
The same aircraft is expected to leave Johannesburg at 12:00 midnight with 270 Nigerian returnees on board, the statement said.
The flight is scheduled to arrive at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, at about 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, subject to operational conditions.
The exercise is part of the Federal Government’s ongoing repatriation of Nigerians stranded in South Africa.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the welfare and protection of Nigerians abroad and pledged to continue coordinating the evacuation process until all willing returnees are safely brought home.
