NBET Reaffirms Commitment To Power Sector Reforms

The Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc (NBET), Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, has reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, professionalism, and accountability in implementing the Presidential Power Sector Financial Reforms Programme (PPSFRP).

Its Chairman, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, spoke at the All-Transaction Parties Meeting convened by NBET at Jupiter Hall, Four Points by Sheraton, Victoria Island, Lagos. 

He also commended stakeholders and partners driving the nation’s ongoing power sector reforms.

Argungu, who described the gathering as “a defining moment” in the implementation of the reforms, said the PPSFRP remains one of the most strategic and transformative initiatives of the Federal Government under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu

According to him, the programme represents a bold and practical step towards addressing liquidity challenges, resolving legacy debts, and creating a sustainable financial framework for Nigeria’s electricity market.”

He noted that the reforms are designed to restore financial discipline, improve investor confidence, and reinforce transparency across the power value chain, adding that NBET will continue to uphold its mandate with integrity and efficiency.

He commended the Power Sector Liquidity Committee and other partners for their commitment and progress so far, noting that their collaborative effort demonstrates the administration’s determination to deliver measurable impact.

“Your engagement, in line with BPP approvals, demonstrates NBET’s dedication to ensuring that this Programme is delivered with integrity, precision, and measurable impact,” he said.

Argungu, who also serves as the National Organizing Secretary (NOS) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), called on all stakeholders to remain united and focused on the goal of building a modern, reliable, and financially sustainable power sector.

“Let us remain united in purpose and resolute in execution. Together, we are transforming policy into measurable progress — building a power sector that not only illuminates homes and industries but drives Nigeria’s economic renewal, resilience, and prosperity,” he stated.
