Senator Ned Nwoko, the lawmaker representing Delta North in the National Assembly on Monday justified his recent defection to the ruling party,All Progressives Congress.

He punctured the  remarks made by Mr. Clement Chiazor, the chairman of the People Democratic Party (PDP) Ward 8 in Aniocha North Local Government Area over Sen. Ned Nwoko’s defection to the ruling All Progressive Congress APC.

Refuting the claims in a statement signed by Michael Ogar, Media Consultant to senator Ned Nwoko, said Mr. Chiazor’s characterization of Senator Nwoko as a “serial political defector” was a clear misrepresentation.

According to him, Senator Nwoko’s political journey reflects a commitment to aligning with parties that prioritize national unity, development, and the welfare of the Nigerian people.

He said Senator Ned Nwoko’s decisions to transition between parties have been driven by ideological considerations and a desire to effect positive change, rather than personal gain.

According the statement,” As a foundation member of the PDP since 1999, Senator Nwoko has proudly served the party and contributed significantly to its growth.

” However, his resignation from the PDP was not taken lightly. His decision was based on observed disunity, internal divisions, and factionalism within the party, which have hindered its effectiveness and alignment with the aspirations of Nigerians.

“These challenges have been well-documented and have led many dedicated members to seek alternative platforms to serve the nation more effectively.

“Throughout his tenure, Senator Nwoko has remained steadfast in his dedication to the constituents of Delta North Senatorial District,” the statement read.

The statement explained that Sen. Ned Nwoko has initiated community projects underscore his commitment to improving the quality of life for his people.

The statement noted that Sen. Nwoko’s moved to the APC was motivated by a desire to collaborate more effectively with stakeholders at all levels to advance development goals and address pressing national issues.
