Deputy Comptroller Nura Miko has assumed duty as Acting Customs Area Controller of the Port and Terminal Multi-services Limited (PTML) Command, pledging to run the command on integrity, due process, and collaboration.

Miko, who took over from Comptroller Joe Anani, said his leadership would prioritize trade facilitation and transparency over enforcement through fear.

“I am here to work with you, not merely to lead you. Integrity will be non-negotiable; trade facilitation will remain our priority, due process will be strictly respected, teamwork will be our greatest strength,” Miko said.

At the handover ceremony, he described PTML as a well-structured command and said he would consolidate existing gains while deepening reforms to improve compliance, transparency, and cargo clearance efficiency.

Miko advocated the need for stronger inter-agency cooperation to advance trade facilitation, revenue generation, and national security.

Speaking, outgoing CAC Comptroller Joe Anani handed over with an ₦181 billion revenue record for his 8-month tenure.

He said the command strengthened reforms under the Unified Customs Management System, B’Odogwu, and achieved one-hour clearance for compliant vehicle imports.

“With the support of my fellow officers, sister agencies and stakeholders, we took it to the next level,” Anani said.
