A Magistrate Court in Ibadan,has ordered the remand of Naomi Ogunwusi, the estranged wife of the Ooni of Ife, alongside Mr. Abdullah Fasasi, principal of Islamic High School, Bashorun, Ibadan, and prominent broadcaster Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat,at the Agodi Correctional Centre in Oyo State.
The Chief Magistrate, Bisi Ogunkanmi, presiding over the Iyaganku Magistrate Court, ordered their remand on charges of conspiracy and murder linked to the tragic stampede at a children’s funfair in Ibadan.
The incident occurred at the Islamic High School, Bashorun,during an end-of-year event,resulting in the death of 35 lives, including children.
The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges. The court has adjourned the case to January 14, 2025, for further hearing.
