The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA),has emphasized its commitment to providing healthcare services amidst the nationwide strike declared by organized labour.
Dr. Benjamin Egbo, the National Secretary General of NMA,disclosed that the association has not declared a strike action and affirmed that doctors will remain at their duty posts to attend to clients in need of health services.
In a statement released on Monday in Abuja, Dr. Egbo acknowledged the challenges and hardships faced by Nigerians but highlighted that the NMA is not an affiliate of organized labour.
But the association empathizes with the difficulties experienced by the populace.
Urging the government and stakeholders to address the issues leading to the current impasse, Dr. Egbo emphasized the NMA’s dedication to serving the public.
He added:”The association remains committed to upholding its duty of providing healthcare services to all those in need, regardless of the prevailing circumstances.
“As the strike action unfolds across the nation, the assurance from the Nigerian Medical Association brings a sense of relief to many who rely on healthcare services during this challenging time”.
