The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ikorodu Local Government, has commenced campaign for its candidate,Hon Wasiu Adesina, ahead of the forthcoming local government election scheduled to hold next Saturday across the local government areas in Lagos state.
Speaking at the rally, APC LGA chairman and apex leader, Mr Taiwo Longe urged members to come out early and massively cast their votes for candidate of the party during the election.
Longe said Adesina has brought monumental developments across the council in his first term adding that he need to consolidate it with his second term in office.
He presented the party’s flags to all the councillorship candidates in five wards that made up the council, and urged them to start their campaign in earnest
He added:”All the councillors should commence their campaign as soon as possible to ensure victory of our great dduring the election. This time, the next four years of this adminstration was to consolidate his first time achievement on developmental agenda of the local government,” he said.
Also speaking at the rally, the chairman of Ikorodu Community Development Committee (CDC), Mr Lukman Shonibare,urged the chairman to channel his concentration to area like Agura, Gberigbe and all the communities.
He advised the council chairman to ensure that those areas were given the necessary attention in order to alleviate their suffering on bad roads adding that they have more number of CDA compare to the central.
“This administration should focus more on residents who lives in area like Agura, Gberigbe an communities sorrounding them.The chairman should shift his attention to the local communities so that they too will taste the dividend of democracy,” he said.
Adesina, in his manifestoes said that his administration would look at the areas they were unable to touch during his first term.
He added that the council would embarked on many empowerment programmes to empower youths with skills in entrepreneurship and agric sector.
He implored party members to get to their poling unit early and also canvass for support and massively vote for the APC during the forthcoming election.
He promised to embarked on rehabilitation and construction of road at Solomade area and areas that has been in a sorry state and links roads.
“During our next four years we will attend to places that we have not get to, as well as making our roads motorable.All the link road in our LG will also be attended to during our second term, as you can see, our work during the first term of our tenure speaks for us,”he said.
