Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Yobe State chapter has called on the judiciary to fast track all cases relating to Gender Based Violence (GBV), abuse and violation against women right in the state in order to ensure proper justice and prosecution of offenders .
Fatima Mohammed Ahmad, the state’s chapter made the plea in continuation of the celebration of International Women’s Day.
According to her:” NAWOJ Yobe State wants to reiterate that our women are not second class citizens whose responsibility is limited to household chores but rather a specifically made precious creature of God that is designed to handle multi-task of nation building.Hence, on this day NAWOJ urges all Men especially husbands to acknowledge the worth and significance of women in their lives and their tremendous contributions to the family and society”.
She said her chapter joined the world to amplify the voice and advocacy for increased women’s inclusiveness in government and decision making positions.
