The National Pension Commission has opened registration for PenCare, a free healthcare initiative for retirees under the Contributory Pension Scheme.
The pilot phase is open to retirees aged 60 and above who receive a monthly pension of ₦70,000 or less from a Pension Fund Administrator, it said in a statement.
According to PenCom, no fewer than 30,000 eligible retirees will be enrolled on a first-come, first-served basis.
It added: “Registration is live and can be done by scanning the barcode published in newspapers, visiting http://www.pencom.gov.ng, or checking any PFA website.”
The commission described PenCare as a Corporate Social Responsibility project aimed at reducing the burden of medical expenses and preserving retirees’ dignity and wellbeing.
