A Nigerian entertainer, Lege Miami, has faulted a video showing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu stumbling during a state visit to Turkey, calling it fake and created by opponents to embarrass him.
The video, which circulated widely on social media on Tuesday, appeared to showed the President stumbling at a ceremonial parade.
Lege, on his Instagram page, described the video as AI-generated, alleging that it was created by political opponents to embarrass the President ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He said:“Mr President didn’t fall. The video circulating is AI-generated. It was the opposition party that created that video because of the upcoming election. It is their pattern.”
He claimed that Tinubu walked alongside Turkish President Recep Erdoğan without incident.
He implored Nigerians to stop spreading false news about public officials.
“I will post my video where Mr President marched with the Turkish President, and you will see it for yourselves. Our president didn’t fall. Stop the fake news,” Lege Miami added.
