The management of 11 Plc, formerly Mobil Oil Nigeria Plc, and owners of the Mobil Service Stations in Nigeria, has shut the station following the fire incident that engulfed its service station at Ikeja on Thursday.
The company expressed their regrets over the inferno and confirmed that all those who sustained injuries have been evacuated to a nearby hospital.
A statement by the company, quoted thatthe fire which occurred at about 11am this morning, Thursday August 8, was successfully extinguished by a combined response team including the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LFRS), Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and Nigeria Police.
The company has shut down operations at the station after taking responsibility for the incident.
It added:“In the interest of public safety, we have temporarily closed the station until further notice. Our company is cooperating fully with relevant government agencies to conduct a thorough investigation to ascertain the cause of the fire.
“Additionally, we are assessing the extent of the damage and implementing necessary measures to minimize the likelihood of similar incidents in the future”
