Naira Scarcity: Abeokuta Residents Protest, Vandalize Banks, Billboards

Angry residents of Abeokuta,the Ogun capital,Tuesday,protested over the scarcity of new naira notes in the country.

Premium News reports that the angry protesters touched major areas in the State capital making bonfires on the major roads.

Some banks in the capital city were also vandalised by the protesters.

Billboards of political parties were also destroyed in the process of the protests.

The situation has forced schools and banks in the capital city to close shop suddenly.

The First Bank in Sapon area of the State capital was one of the banks vandalised by the angry protesters, many of whom had crowded the ATM points at the bank.
