Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a suspect linked to the murder of a former employee of the Central Bank Of Nigeria, CBN, his wife,and son.
Mr. and Mrs. Kehinde and Oluwabukunola Fatinoye were killed at their Government Reservation Area residence in Ibara, Abeokuta, after returning from the crossover service on New Year day.
The murderers were also reported to have set their corpses ablaze and abducted their son and housemaid.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Police Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, a Superintendent of Police, SP, confirmed in a statement that a suspect had been arrested and investigation was ongoing.
He said:“The incident happened after 12 in the morning,” Oyeyemi disclosed. “It is true that a couple was killed and set ablaze at their residence in Abeokuta, shortly after they returned from Crossover Service.
“This is a clear case of assassination and we are not leaving any stone unturned to unravel those behind the killings. One person has been arrested by our operatives in connection to the incident. We will get to the root of the matter, as investigation has since begun.”
