Four men have been arrested by the police for allegedly impersonating the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, in a multi-million naira land fraud targeting a retired military officer and other victims.

Yashim Kajang, the prime suspect was arrested on March 24, 2026, for allegedly defrauding retired Major General A.K. Ibrahim and others of over N150 million under the guise of facilitating land transactions in Guzape II Cadastral Zone, Abuja.

He was said to have convinced his victims that he had close ties with the FCT Minister and officials in the land administration system, thereby gaining their trust to collect huge sums for purported land allocations.

He allegedly received over N150 million to process documents for Plot 1985, said to span about three hectares, along with other parcels of land.

Kajang, during interrogation, reportedly named three accomplices Stephen Mhambe and Danladi Jatau, both linked to the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), and Terngu Ipaven as collaborators in the scheme.

He confessed that the trio supplied him with land-related data and insider information used to execute the fraudulent transactions.

Police confirmed that all four suspects are currently in custody and under investigation, as efforts continue to uncover the full scope of the alleged fraud.
