The Special Assistant to Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on Disability Matters, Hon. Omomofe Koledoye has congratulated Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, on his appointment as Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Koledoye, who described the appointment as well-deserved, noted that the new diplomatic role is a recognition of Senator Ibrahim’s vast experience, intellectual capacity, and longstanding commitment to national development.
According to her, the appointment is not only a proud moment for Ondo State but also a great source of pride for the entire Southern Senatorial District.
She expressed confidence that Ibrahim will represent Nigeria with distinction, wisdom, and patriotism while contributing meaningfully to global discussions on development, peace, and international cooperation.
In a statement, Hon. Koledoye implored the Senator to continually remember the interests of the millions of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Nigeria while carrying out his responsibilities at the international level.
She emphasized that global platforms such as the United Nations provide a unique opportunity to further advance conversations around inclusion, accessibility, and equal opportunities for persons with disabilities.
“ Your new role offers a strategic platform to strengthen advocacy for disability rights and inclusive development. We believe your voice can help amplify the concerns of persons with disabilities and promote policies that ensure that no one is left behind,” she stated.
She further conveyed the goodwill and support of the entire Persons with Disabilities community across the Southern Senatorial District of Ondo State, noting that they remain grateful for Senator Ibrahim’s continuous gestures and support toward disability inclusion in his senatorial district an example that others in his position find very difficult to emulate.
She added:“ We are confident that even in this important international assignment, your well-known commitment to supporting vulnerable groups will continue to inspire hope among persons with disabilities.”
