The Ogun State Police Command has arrested one suspect in connection with the death of popular Nigerian singer Adesina Afeez, commonly known as Destiny Boy.
The matter has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Homicide Section, for comprehensive investigation, according to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi.
He quoted that the Command had commenced a formal probe into the circumstances surrounding the death of the 22-year-old artiste.
“The Ogun State Police Command has initiated investigations into the death of Adesina Afeez, aged 22 years, popularly known as Destiny Boy,” the statement read.
“The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Homicide Section, for detailed investigation. One suspect is currently in custody while investigations are ongoing.”
The Police assured the public that investigations are ongoing and that further details will be made available as the case progresses
Destiny Boy died on Sunday following the circulation of distressing videos on social media showing his lifeless body being conveyed to a mortuary.
The videos caused widespread grief among fans and the public, as well as speculation over the cause of his death.
