A.A. Rano Nigeria Limited,one of the country’s downstream sector players, has launched the country’s first fully automated and unmanned fuel stations with 24/7 service, digital payments, and SmartPump technology.
Petrosoft Limited, a Nigerian technology company that develops management systems for the oil and gas industry,will implementing this in partnership with A.A Rano
According to a statement, the agreement will see Petrosoft deploy its automated station technology across A.A. Rano’s more than 200 retail outlets all over Nigeria.
Commenting, A.A. Rano said the first automated stations are expected to start operations during the month of January 2026, enabling customers to refuel, make contactless payments and complete transactions without attendants.
The company explained that the technology is designed to reduce losses, improve transparency and reassure customers that they are getting the exact volume of fuel for which they pay.
The Chief Executive Officer, Petrosoft, Dr. Joshua Denila said the project shows how homegrown technology can solve long-standing challenges in Nigeria’s fuel retail market.
He added:“Our systems are developed locally and built to international standards. They are designed to improve efficiency from single stations to large fueling depots.”
