The Ondo State Electricity Regulatory Bureau (OSERB) has issued its first tariff order to BEDC Electricity Ondo Limited (BEOL).
BEOL replaced BEDC Electricity Plc as the state’s electricity distributor in 2025.
BEOL has now been fully licensed to operate under the Bureau’s regulatory framework following the issuance of the order, according to the agency.
The State Coordinator and Chief Executive Officer of OSERB, Engr. Stephen Bolawole, who disclosed this on Friday in Akure, Ondo State, said the new tariff order applies to customers across Band A to E feeders.
The regulatory bureau has also approved upgrading of several feeders in the state to improve power supply.
Engr. Bolawole said the decision reflects the Bureau’s commitment to improved service delivery.
He added: “The Ondo State Electricity Regulatory Bureau (OSERB) has taken a major step in reforming the state’s power sector with the issuance of its first tariff order to BEDC Electricity Ondo Limited (BEOL).
“BEOL, which replaced BEDC Electricity Plc as the state’s electricity distributor earlier this year, is now fully licensed to operate under the Bureau’s regulatory framework.
“The newly issued tariff order applies to customers across Band A to E feeders.
“As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen power supply, OSERB also approved the upgrade of several feeders.
“Ijapo and Igbatoro feeders have been upgraded from Band C to Band A, Owena and Okitipupa feeders have moved from Band C to Band B, while Ikare feeder has been promoted from Band D to Band C.
“Additionally, the Bureau confirmed the approval of capped billing for unmetered BEOL customers for October 2025.
“Electricity is vital to economic growth and development. These upgrades and tariff approvals will go a long way in boosting supply reliability across the state.”
He cautioned customers against engaging in energy theft, warning that it undermines reforms and threatens the stability of the sector.
