The National Organizing Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), H.E. Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, has commended the party’s resounding success in the legislative bye-elections conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Saturday, August 16, 2025.
At a press conference in Abuja, Argungu announced that the APC got victory in 13 of the 16 contested seats across 12 states, describing the outcome as “a remarkable achievement and a reaffirmation of the confidence Nigerians continue to repose in the APC.”
The constituencies won by the APC include Ganye State Constituency in Adamawa, Ovia Federal Constituency and Edo Central Senatorial District in Edo, Babura-Garki Federal Constituency in Jigawa, Zaria Kewaye, Basawa, and Chikun/Kajuru constituencies in Kaduna, Ghari/Tsanyawa in Kano, Okura in Kogi, Munya in Niger, Remo in Ogun, Karim Lamido in Taraba, and Kaura Namoda South in Zamfara.
“These victories are not just statistics,” Argungu emphasized. They demonstrate the strength, resilience, and growing acceptance of our party nationwide. They reflect the belief of the Nigerian people in our capacity to deliver purposeful leadership and good governance.”
The party announced plans to convene an interactive session in Abuja with all elected Senators, Members of the House of Representatives, and State Assembly members who emerged from the bye-elections.
The session, according to Argungu, will serve as a platform to share ideas, build trust, and align legislative priorities with the vision of the party and the expectations of Nigerians.
He expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his “visionary leadership,” the Progressive Governors Forum for their “coordination and sacrifice,” and the National Working Committee (NWC), as well as party stakeholders and supporters across the country, for their loyalty and dedication.
He reiterated the party’s commitment to the welfare of Nigerians, and assured that the party remains steadfast in supporting the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
He added:“The task before us is enormous,” he noted. “But with discipline, loyalty, and unity, we will continue to deliver victories for the APC and progress for Nigeria.”
