Three Police officers from Jega divisional officers have been detained at Kebbi state criminal investigation unit for allegedly murdering a suspect in their custody.
The Command’s image maker,CSP ,Nafiu Abubakar, who confirmed this in a statement said that the suspect was arrested for stealing rims of trailer in Jega .
He collapsed during investigation and later died after he was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
The statement added that following the death of the suspect, the commissioner of Police Kebbi state CP.Bello. M.Sani ordered investigation to ascertain the death of the suspect which revealed that the three officers being detained has a hand in the death of the suspect .
The divisional Police officer Jega local government was given a query and immediately redeployed to give room for further investigation into the case being handled by state criminal investigation unit (SCIU).
Bello urged officers of the Command to continue to exhibit professionalism while discharging their duties.
