The sole administrator in Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas (Rtd), has suspended all political office holders and appointees in the state with immediate effect.
He conveyed this in a statement signed by his Chief of Staff .
The suspension touches top government officials, including the Secretary to the State Government, who has been ordered to hand over to the Permanent Secretary.
The Chief of Staff, alongside Honourable Commissioners, are also expected to hand over to the Permanent Secretaries in their respective Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
According to the statement, chairmen and members of all boards, councils of agencies, commissions, institutions, and parastatals have also been suspended till further notice.
Special Advisers, Special Assistants, and Senior Special Assistants were also suspended.
The affected officers are required to hand over to the Permanent Secretaries in their MDAs.
For ministries and departments where there are no Permanent Secretary, the suspended appointees are to hand over to the most senior Director or Head of Administration.
