Senator Ned Nwoko, has resigned his membership of the opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

In a resignation letter dated January 30, 2025  and addressed to the chairman of PDP Ward 8, Aniocha North of Delta state,Nwoko said his decision to resign from People’s Democratic Party (PDP),was due to factionalization, lack of internal democracy, deep division within the party.

He said:”My decision to resign is first and foremost  due to the deep divisions and factionalization within the party. This fragmentation has made it increasingly difficult to foster unity and advance the collective interests of our people. Just this week,  precisely on the 29th of January, the top party  leadership were seen fighting themselves

“I write to formally resign my membership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), a party I have proudly served as a foundation member since1999”

“Secondly, the degeneration  to the lowest levels by physically fighting themselves arising from the stated factions, which have become lrreconeilable

“Thirdly,I also deeply appreciate the platform the PDP provided for  me to contest the 2022/2023 senatorial election. It was an opportunity that allowed me lo engage directly with the people of my constituency and present my vision for a brighter future”, the letter stated.

“I made solemn and actionable promises to my constituents which  I take seriously as a member of the people.

He regretted that, the current structure of the party in his state has not been conducive to realize  these promises.

He said:”While I bid farewell lo my membership in the PDP, I assure all party members and my constituents of my unwavering dedication to statesmanship”.
