The World Health Organization (WHO),has expressed regret over the United States’ decision to withdraw from the organization,emphasizing the critical role the agency plays in safeguarding global health and security, including for Americans. 

In a statement,WHO highlighted its long-standing partnership with the US, which has been instrumental in addressing disease outbreaks, building resilient health systems, and combating health emergencies in some of the world’s most challenging environments.

The United States,a founding member of WHO since 1948,has been instrumental in shaping the organization’s mission alongside 193 other member states. 

Notable achievements include the eradication of smallpox and near-eradication of polio, achieved through collaborative efforts with American institutions. 

It underscored its commitment to accountability and efficiency, noting significant reforms over the past seven years. 

The organization expressed hope for constructive dialogue to sustain its partnership with the US,adding that continued collaboration is essential for protecting global health and ensuring the well-being of millions.
