Nigeria,US Sign Agreement On Repatriation Of $52m Diezani Madueke’s Loot

The Federal Government and the United States of America, on Friday, signed the asset return  agreement on the repartriation of assets recovered from the  former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke and her associates to the tune of $52m USD.

Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi (SAN) signed on behalf of Nigeria,while the Ambassador of the United States, Richard M. Mills, Jr. put pen on paper for his country. 

At the occasion,Fagbemi said the signing of the agreement signified the culmination of efforts by the stakeholders to return forfeited assets to Nigeria. 

“Today, the execution of the Asset Return Agreement between the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the United States of America concretizes the repatriation of approximately USD 52.88 million arising from the forfeiture of the Galactica assets, linked to the former Petroleum Resources Minister Diezani Alison-Madueke and her associates”,the AGF stated.
