Alleged N110bn Fraud:Court Remands Yahaya Bello In EFCC Custody

Justice Maryann Anenih of the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Maitama, Abuja, on Wednesday, ordered the remand of the former Governor of Kogi,Yahaya Bello in the custody of the  Economic and Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC pending the December 10 ruling on his bail request.

 

 

 

Bello, alongside two others, Shuaibu Oricha and Abdulsalami Hudu, are being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crones Commission over allegations of criminal breach of trust and conspiracy to commit an offence  totalling N110.4 billion.

 

 

The Judge fixed the date for ruling after prosecution and defence counsel had argued their bail application.

 

 

 

The former Governor was arraigned on fresh 16-count charges brought against him by the EFCC.He pleaded not guilty when the the charges were read to him.
