Two men have been confirmed dead in Ipe-Akoko in South-East Local Government Area of Ondo State shortly after drinking herbal concoction.
One other person, who prepared the concoction is currently in coma receiving medical attention in a hospital in the town,sources said.
According to sources,the incident happened on Saturday when the natives of the town came from far and near to celebrate Ibogbe festival(age group festival).
Ojulewa Alex was said to have prepared a herbal concoction which he was drinking when Adu Johnson and Alonge Samuel joined him to drink the solution.
Shortly after, the three of them started vomiting ceaselessly which forced the neighbours to rush them to the hospital.
Arriving the hospital,Ojulewa Alex and Alonge Samuel were confirmed dead, while Adu Johnson is still in coma as at the time of filing this report.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson to the state Police Command, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya said the incident was reported at the police station in Isua-Akoko.
She said investigation has commenced on the cause of the incident.
The police Image-maker said: “A chief came and reported at Isua Police Station that one Mr. Ojulewa prepared a native concoction (Agbo) which he drank with two others and thereafter the trio started vomiting.
“While on their way to the hospital, the duo of Ojulewa Alex and Alonge Samuel gave up the ghost.But Adu Johnson is in coma receiving medical treatment. Investigation is ongoing on the matter.”
