Impeachment: Edo Chief Judge Constitutes Panel To Investigate Shaibu

Chief Judge of Edo State, Honourable Justice Daniel Okungbowa has constituted the panel of seven persons to investigate the allegations contained in the impeachment notice against the Deputy Governor of Edo State,Philip Shaibu.

The development is sequel to the resolution of the Edo State House of Assembly on the 19 March, 2024 which was sent to the Honourable Chief Judge of Edo State.

Citing perjury and disclosure of government secrets, Majority Leader of the House, Mr. Charity Aiguobarueghian had on Wednesday, March 6 during plenary announced that 21 out of the 24 members of the Edo State House of Assembly had signed an impeachment notice against Comrade Shaibu.

The Panel of seven persons which is headed by retired Justice S A Omonua also has Prof. Theresa Akpoghome, Mr. Oghogho Ayodele Oviasu and Dr. Andrew Oliha as members.
