Fraud: Kaduna Electric Sacks 39 Staff

Kaduna Electric has sacked 39 staff from its employ for violating the company’s employee policy.

Its Head of Corporate Communication, Abdulazeez Abdullahi,who conveyed the action in a statement sent to Premium News, disclosed that the offences range from misappropriation of company funds, fraudulent practices, unauthorised access and abscondment.

According to the statement,the offences violate the revised employee conditions of service which was recently endorsed by the national leadership of the two in-house labour unions and the management led by the Managing Director/CEO, Yusuf Usman Yahaya.

The power firm said the action of the dismissed staff had adverse effects on the company’s fortunes and needed to be nipped in the bud.

Expressing disgust over all manner of fraudulent activities perpetrated by staff,the company said it would not hesitate to wield the big stick on those caught in the act.

The company advised customers to desist from transacting any business with fraudulent persons to shortchange the company,saying the development hampers its ability to meet its obligations to the electricity market.
