The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company Plc (EEDC) is currently at zero allocation on account of the grid collapse that occurred in the earlier today.

The customers of the power firm in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo are in darkness,Emeka Ezeh, Head, Corporate Communications, EEDC,confirmed in a statement.

He described the loss of supply currently experienced in all 5 states in the region as a general collapse.

He added: “ We wish to inform our esteemed customers that the loss of supply currently being experienced is as a result of a general system collapse which occurred at 11:27am today, Wednesday, 20th July 2022.This was restored, but at 2:52pm another partial collapse occurred. As a result, we are currently at zero allocation and our customers in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo States are out of supply.

“We are standing by, awaiting signal from the National Control Centre (NCC) for restoration of supply,” he said
