Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu,has expressed his administration’s commitment to ensuring incentives were provided to motivate outstanding performances in the state’s civil service .
He disclosed this at the special luncheon with 2022 Outstanding Public Servants in the state in commemoration of this year’s Lagos State Public Service Week Celebration at Victoria Island, Lagos.
Congratulating the 190 awardees,the governor said the state government would continue to give priority to the need of civil servants in the state, as well as improve capacity to meet the expectations of Lagosians.
He said the state would soon unveil its 30 year developmental plan while urging the awardees to continue to work hard.
He added:”Even as we have achieved a lot of progress in building a Lagos State Public Service that is 21st -Century Compliant, we have no reason to rest on our oars. We still have a lot of work ahead of us, especially if we are benchmarking our output with global standards, as exemplified in the most successful cities around the world.
“On our own part, as the government entrusted with oversight and leadership of the Public Service, we will continue to give priority
attention to all your needs, especially those that will improve your job satisfaction, and your ability and capacity to meet the
expectations of Lagosians. I’m sure that you can all testify to the many investments we have made and are making, in training, provision of working tools, provision of a conducive working environment, and incentives aimed at motivating excellent performance”, he said.
He also commended the Head of Service, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, for his visionary and progressive leadership that has elevated the Lagos State Public Service beyond expectation

In his welcome address, the Head of Service, Hakeem Muri- Okunola, explained the Luncheon was held to recognise and honour the best among civil servants as part of this year’s celebration of Lagos State Public Service Week, thanking the Governor for prioritising the welfare of workers in the state.
He urged the 190 recipients of the best officers award drawn from the state’s civil service not to rest on their oars but continue to exhibit high sense of responsibility, diligence, commitment to duty and unalloyed loyalty.
“In congratulating today’s awardees, I urge you not to rest on your oars but continue to exhibit the high sense of responsibility, diligence, commitment to duty and unalloyed loyalty which are the qualities and values for which you have been recognized today”, Muri-Okunola said.
