MEMMCOL Boss Advocates Adoption Of Technology To Stop Grid Collapse

The chairman of Momas Electric Meter Manufacturing Company,MEMMCOL,Engineer Kola Balogun,has advised Nigeria to consider adopting modern technology to stop the recurring grid collapse in the country.

He gave the suggestion weekend at a public lecture in Abeokuta, Ogun State,organized by the Nigerian Society of Engineers,NSE,where he also said Nigeria has a lot to learn from developed countries in the use of modern technology to nip power hitches in the bud.

According to him,Nigeria needs to urgently integrate some of the existing technologies into the nation’s energy sector to check frequent collapse as well as promote energy efficiency in the country.

He commended the Federal Government for its frequent interventions in the power sector,saying the gesture has in no more measure contributed to the relative stability of the sector.

He added:”Let’s us reappraise the solution.Let us look at the low hanging fruits where we can explore between consumers and distributions companies how they can get uninterrupted power.That is why the interface which is the substation.Let us design a panel or an infrastructure that would enable us bridge the gap”
