The Ogun State Government has begun a three month free ICT training for selected unemployed graduates in the state.
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the state governor, Kunle Somorin, explained that the free training is aimed at enabling the beneficiaries to develop new Information Technology solutions.
He said the trainees will be offered immediate employment by the state government, so as to reduce the unemployment rate among the people
He said that the training, which is being used by the Governor Dapo Abiodun-led administration to broaden the scope of the youths in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), was held at Ogun Techhub, Kobape, Abeokuta.
The training is management-based to enable public and private sectors manage cost, reduce stress, and save time, among others using new innovations in Information Technology (IT).The present administration in Ogun is determined to digitalize the State, hence the three months of free training given to the participants in order to develop new IT ideas that could be adopted by government and private firms.
“Some of the unique digital solutions created by the trainees such as transportation, education and hospital management solutions, and so on, will reduce unemployment, as well as boost the digital economy of the State”, the statement further said.
