Sanwo-Olu Promises To Boost Lagos Tourism Potentials

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu ,says his administration  will promote ease of doing business and attract more tourists to the state.
The governor,who  at the public presentation of the Lagos Tourism Masterplan and Policy and Domestication of Tourism in Lagos,was represented at the occasion by his deputy,
Dr. Obafemi Hamzat
He said since the assumption of Office over two years ago, this administration have taken decisive steps to explore the abundant possibilities in this very critical sector by giving the practitioners and key stakeholders an opportunity to be directly involved in every of the state’s policies, including the process that have led to the development of the two documents being presented today.
“Today’s event is an evidence of our commitment to inclusiveness and stakeholders’ partnership knowing that this sector thrives on public-private partnership and collaboration.
“Our resolve to ensure that the production of these documents come to fruition speaks to our sincere intention to better the lots of Lagosians, promote ease of doing business, and attract more tourists to our State and domestic tourism activities in the Centre of Excellence.
Commending previous administrations that have taken deliberate steps to advance the tourism sector, he said that there are numerous tourism potentials in Lagos State that are yet to be fully harnessed, that the need to harness these untapped tourism potentials necessitated the development of both the Tourism Master Plan and Policy which was conceptualized in 2018.
“We have been decisive in the implementation of all our plans, programmes and policies as enshrined in our THEMES Agenda. Specifically, the Entertainment and Tourism Pillar, being an integral part of these six pillars have been given due attention by our administration.
He added that his administration inherited this document and with the efforts and contributions of relevant stakeholders in the tourism industry, it was reviewed to reflect the current administration’s policy thrust and plans for Entertainment and Tourism pillar under the THEMES Agenda.
