The Head of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Francis,has offered to help Nigeria in fighting the current spate of insecurity in the country.
The Pope,who gave the assurance when Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Vatican City (Holy See), Ambassador Adikwu, submitted his letter of credence,also expressed the readiness of the Vatican to partner with Sub-Saharan Africa in ending terrorism.

He described the spate of insecurity in the West African sub-region as “not just a Nigerian affair but global one.
He called for prayers to enable Nigeria overcome the situation and promised that he “will personally be involve in praying for Nigeria to overcome the situation.”
Ambassador Adikwu commended the leadership role provided by the Pope to the world and assured the Holy Father of his readiness to hit the ground running, as he intend to start prayer sessions with major religious organization both in Nigeria and the Vatican City for the country Nigeria.
He further promised to ensure that Nigeria- Holy See Relation is taken to the next level, even as he called on Nigerians to continue to be law abiding and to represent the country’s image in the Vatican and Italy at large.
