The armed bandits according to an eye witness account however had stiff resistance from the men of the local vigilante who put up a brave fight that eventually neutralised 5 of the assailants and ended further destruction of lives and properties.
The Beri Police Station was also razed by the hoodlums with several people reportedly injured durning the stampede that accompanied the arson on the police station.
While the killing continued, another set of the armed bandits stormed the Garin-Gabas community almost same time Monday morning during which they encountered stiff opposition from the youth of the town,
It was also not possible to immediately ascertain the number of casualties on both sides.
The rampaging armed bandits who seems to be having a field attacking and molesting Nigerlites in the past two days, our correspondent learnt also in the early Monday morning raided Ungwan-Bako in the Kotonkoro district of Mariga local government abducting many people mostly women and children.
Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA) confirmed the attacks but said ‘we are yet to get details on the number of casualties on both sides from the villages where the armed bandits invaded Monday morning’,
