Ekiti: Amotekun Arrests Prophetesses,Others For Child Trafficking

The Western Nigeria Security Network, Amotekun, in Ekiti State has paraded four persons for alleged trafficking of two minor to Libya.

The suspects, Mrs. Doncas Adefowoke, Mrs. Oyetunji Ebunoluwa, Miss Adefowoke Toyin and Okikiola Omodan.

The suspects include two prophetesses, who confessed to have converged more than thirty persons in preparation for traffic mission before their arrest.

The Commandant, Amotekun Corps, in Ekiti State, Brigd. Gen. Joel Komolafe, Rtd, said the suspects were arrested after a tip-off by some citizens.

He said preliminary investigation confirmed that the suspects, who had formed a cartel have finalized arrangements to ferry two victims to Libya without the consent of their parents.

The suspects were already on their way to handover the victims to agents who will sell them as slaves to Libya before the command was able to track them down,he said.

He expressed the readiness of the command to work with various security agencies in the state to fight crime.

The suspects were handed over to the National Agency for the prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP, and had been transferred to their head office for further investigation.
